A tutorial for you?

Back in June I was involved in a mid winter swap for 12 days and it was a lot of fun.  One of the items I sent to Deb was some handstamped tealight candles in a cute little box.  Anyway I have finally finished the tutorial for the box and you can download it now.

Sun Sun Sun

Wow, what a fabulous time I have had for the past 10 days, in Sunny sunny Qld and on a much needed family holiday, Its been a long time since we have been there, and this was the first time we went as parents, so I was the designated bag holder at the theme parks as the "kids" meaning my hubby and son went on all the rides they could or were allowed to as Harry is only 4 lol.  Hopefully I will have some scrapbook layouts to share with you in the coming weeks on our family trip.  I hope you have all enjoyed my pre scheduled posts while I have been away, but I will be back tomorrow with a card I love, and that I am demoing at a workshop tomorrow!

Oh and I have been unable to leave comment love on my fave blogs I love to visit, but I will drop past and try and catch up on what I have missed!

Punch Potpourri

I found this gorgeous little card while browsing the internet, and loved everything about it so much so that except for two different little punches(the sentiment and the circle punch), the rest was completely cased from Andrea Lowcock.  I don't do a lot of CASEING, but now and again I find something that I love, and  also one that just really doesn't need to be altered.  This is one of them.  Pop on over and visit Andreas blog, you won't be disappointed, she does fabulous work and its a place I love to visit.  The other thing that appealed to me with this fabbo card is that it showcases a great range of our Stampin' up! punches - what a fabulous tool/card so I thought I would make one of these babies up to take to a workshop for all new stampers, and showcase these gorgeous punches - and letting them all know also that I was not the creator of this terrific card.

Perfect little card isn't it, thanks Andrea :)

A cutie patootie mini cupcake stand

I was visiting over at digichick and found a fab template for a cupcake stand, so I thought I would try and create one with my own punches, I had created a batch of mini butterfly cakes so thought I would give them a whirl, they only take a few minutes to create these using the stampin' Up! tab punch, the x large scallop circle punch, 2 1/2" circle and I used my hot glue gun.  Hmm can see these used in different colours for a birthday food table, quite fun.

Details:

Stamp Sets: Homemade
Ink Pads: Blushing bride, Rose red
Cardstock: Pink pirouette, Whisper white
Punches: tab punch, xlarge scallop circle punch, 2 1/2" circle punch
Tools: Heat gun, Sticky strip for the four tab punches.

Something christmassy....

I know its only July, but I love christmas and I will use any excuse to bring out my christmas stamps, but let me just say, I am already one christmas card down with this card, so it sometimes pays to start early lol.  I fell in love with the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue that went live in the US this month, which we are getting very very soon - yippee!  So whilst browsing through it I came across something that caught my eye, and kept me returning to it.  Now I love anything to do with my punches and this one was the perfect excuse to break out my beautiful curly label punch, so I had to CASE the card from their catalogue, though I did change the stamp sets around as we don't have those here in Australia.

Show me the card they say!!! Ok will stop waffling lol, here it is:

Oh and scroll down afterwards for a mini tutorial on how to create these little corner photo holders I guess you would call them.

Cute aren't they?  Well below is how to make them:

Step 1
Punch out 6 curly label punchies (I used pear pizazz)

Step 2
Using two of the punchies, cut each punchie as shown below:

Step 3
Take one of the cut corners and using a teeny amount of snail on the outer edges of the base punchie only, adhere the cut piece on top.  DO this for all 4 punchies
NOTE: for the top right hand one and the bottom left hand one you will need to adhere the cut piece on the opposite side of the punchie.

 Step 4
Using your paper piercer and your mat pack foam, pierce a hole closer to the top of the corner on all 4 punchies like below:
Then pop a brad through each hole.

Stamp your inner image onto cardstock, mount onto another piece of cardstock, then pop into the four corners.  I did add a little bit of snail onto each punchie just down the inner middle to hold the main image in place.
Note: for added decoration I used my mat pack and piercer and pierced holes all around the edge of the main focal image (whisper white cardstock) to give it more interest.

I then adhered the main image above onto a crumb cake card base and the card was complete.

Details:

Stamp Sets: Snow swirled
Ink Pads: Pear pizazz, cherry cobbler
Cardstock: Crumb cake (base), cherry cobbler (mat), whisper white(main focal image), pear pizazz(decorative corners)
Punches:Curly label punch
Tools:  Mat pack, Paper piercer
Other: White SU brads, dimensionals for the raised cherry cobbler snowflakes.

Something strawberry perhaps?

Ahh, my favourite fruit, my favourite milkshake flavour, I adore strawberries, so when I saw this done HERE  I wanted to give it a try, anyway I didn't have the die that was used for the strawberry, so I used the die that I did own (fun flowers), I used the same principals and I think they turned out fine.
You will definitely need your big shot for this, also a dotted embossing folder and the 5 petal punch.  Ribbon is also used.

If you are coming to my 2nd birthday you too can make one of these little cuties, along with the picnic basket and the note card.
