Harrys amazing birthday cake

My lovely friend Ju put me on to a lady named Ann, to create a cake I had seen for my sons "race" birthday, I booked Ann in, let her know what I wanted and all this without even meeting the lovely lady. Anyways fast forward a couple of weeks to the day we picked up the cake and I was so totally blown away with the most fantastic cake ever,  You can visit Anns website to see her wonderful creations HERE.  man she does the bestest job EVER.  Ok here is a picture of the cake:

yumm, all that chocolatey mud cake gorgeousness topped with that beautiful icing.

Even the cute no 4 on the top of McQueen is just perfect.
Thanks so much Ann from a very, very happy customer!

A cake gift set in a box

How would you like to give this cute little box to someone as a gift - small cooking utensils in the front and in the back you can pop either a cake mix or some tubes with cake toppings in it, I love this cute little box.  Anyway, you can find this box as a challenge over at Project Tuesday.  Team it up with the colour challenge over at Inkspirations, and I have what I need to make this:

Merry....

I got a new stamp in the post so thought I would ink it up for the challenge over at Waltzingmouse, So sat down once again with miss 10 and we both made a card to follow this sketch:

Have used the leaves and holly as the "stripe" in the sketch.

Polar white flower soft is added to all the girls trim on her coat, and her hat.

Miss 10s card also for the challenge, used the 5th avenue floral stamp set and the embossing folder for the little circulare parts at the bottom of the card. Technique used: watercolouring.

Totally Tess

Miss 10 (or miss 10 and 2 and a half quarters as she calls herself lol) sat down with me tonight to do the Mojo Monday challenge, and she pulled out colours I would NEVER use lol but I think the card ended up nice and bright, and I think she did well, I have been teaching her sponging so thats what this card got today, all of this work is her own, and she still amazes me of what she comes up with, so here is her card:

The sketch:

I think she did an amazing job, what do you think?

Woo Hoo, some happy mail

Its always the best feeling to receive happy mail in your letterbox instead of the B word, and this week I received my prize from my challenge I won over at Mojo Monday.  I was allowed to pick any stamp set I wished, and let me tell you it was really difficult, as there were so many to choose from over at Verve.  Well I settled on the set called delightful and delicious and here is the set, its just scrumptious, so thanks to verve and to all the gals over at Mojo Monday :)

A box and a card

I dug out some "other" stamp sets today to use for the latest Just Add Ink challenge, and let me say, I was releaved to do something other than christmas.  All christmas cards and mini catalogues have been posted today, and I am so glad that that job is over and done with - whoo, so there is a sketch challenge this week and it is a really simple one, so I am really glad as the last few weeks I have made my entries quite involved so this change of pace is more than welcomed at this time of year.  Here is the sketch:

This ribbon is gorgeous, its the free christmas ribbon with the current promo, and looks great on non christmas cards I think

Homemade cookies will be going into this box, well its intended for that use, I had hoped to have had them made last week, but as it would happen life gets busy lol.
Everything is Stampin' Up! except for the stamped images, so if you would like to know more about them you will need to email me, ok thats all for now,

A gift card in a card

I received a phone call with about 3 hours notice to whip something up for my nieces friend, as it had been left to the last minute, as is the way with all kids I think lol, anyway, there was a gift card and the little girl is to be 11, so knowing my niece, all her friends are definitely not into fru fru, *sigh* where does the time go, anyway, here is what i came up with when put in a hot spot, making a card for someone I have never met lol.

even a little gemstone in the top of the little crown.

the number 11 was cut out with timeless type alphabet die and big shot, and covered in crystal effects to make all nice and shiny.
inside of the card, and the scallop envelope die holds the gift card

Under the white ribbon, the rich razzleberry cardstock has been run through the crimper.

Anyway, it fits the challenge this week at A spoon Full of Sugar which is "Anything Goes"

Not much stampin except for the sentiment BUT lots of yummy embossing and for this you will definitely need a gorgeous BIG SHOT machine, those machines are little work horses let me tell you. A must have item for any crafter, ok thats all from me for now

Happy birthday to my beautiful boy...

Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Harrison, Happy birthday to you, Hip Hip hooray, Hip hip hooray, Hip Hip Hooray.  I love you baby, mum xxxxxxx

Ahhh, a bittersweet day for me, yep another year older, and mummy isnt liking it one bit, but Harry is sooo excited, I cant tell you how excited, theres been a countdown of sleeps, and the poor thing has had to get over first his grandfathers birthday two days ago, then his cousins yesterday, and finalllllllly, today its his turn.   I  would like to say firstly a huge thank you to my online friends who have sent happy birthday wishes Harrys way, and most especially, I would love to give big hugs to Sheri for the lovely present she sent Harry and the gorgeous card which you will see here:

A lovely card, with a present for Harrison, thanks Sheri, hugsxx

Now Harry has said for months he wants a "race" birthday, meaning "cars" so while this year is the first year I haven't done a massive birthday (will just be with family), I still couldn't resist doing his invites, loot bags and finally his card all in the same theme.  You can see his loot bags HERE, and his invites HERE.  SO here is the card (which has taken me awhile coz I just didn't know what to do with it, finally deciding on a matching one lol)
SO glad tow Mater came in the post in time, didn't make it in time for the invites :(

Close up of the crystal effects on the road, maters tongue, and of course a shiny lightening McQueen

Another gift card holder

I have made a few of these, and today was asked to make another two, so here is the first one, and I also used the sketch over at Card Patterns and the inspirational muse over at Case Study to get me started. I then used ribbon as per challenge this week over at Pals Paper Arts and I have a finished product - yay!  I dont think I have ever combined 3 challenges before, it certainly was a challenge lol. Anyway  here is my christmas gift card holder:

The nestie is run thru the big shot using an embossing folder.

THe "wreath" has cherry cobbler accents on the berries then is covered in crystal effects to make all shiny and bright.

the gift card holder is the scalloped envelope decorated to imitate the front of the card.

The top has the sentiment stamped on it ready to be written in.
